Educational toll: Of Gaza war, at least 2 universities, 148 schools

b_179_129_16777215_00_images_GAZ140724AA001.jpegAt least two universities, seven United Nations schools and an estimated 141 locally run schools have suffered severe damage in the month-long war between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli missiles hit the Islamic University of Gaza early on Saturday, destroying a major building on the campus but apparently not killing anyone. In a July 29 attack at the north Gaza branch of Al Quds Open University, 22 people were killed, apparently students. The attack appeared to be aimed at a nearby satellite facility.
