Scottish referendum: Independent or part of UK?
Scotland – After more than 300 years of union, Scottish and British leaders signed a deal Monday allowing the Scots to decide whether they want to leave the United Kingdom and become their own nation.
"I always wanted to show respect to the people of Scotland," British Prime Minister David Cameron said. "They voted for a party that wanted to have a referendum; I've made that referendum possible."
