KIEV, Ukraine - The likelihood of a full-scale war breaking out between Russia and Ukraine continued to increase as Crimeans voted in an independence referendum Sunday.

Voters lined up at polling stations early in the morning to take part in a vote called by the Crimean regional assembly, whose leader was appointed during a pro-Russian armed occupation of the parliament.
