Patrick Wells






Patrick is a British freelance multimedia journalist and filmmaker. After studying print journalism at the Press Association in the UK, he joined Reuters as a cameraman in West Africa in 2009, reporting from Liberia, Guinea and Ivory Coast. In November 2010, Patrick conducted 2-month 4000km reporting trip through rural Guinea on a 100cc motorbike during the country’s violent elections crisis, producing reports for Reuters, Al Jazeera English and France 24. He has written for Reuters, UNICEF, USA Today and The Newcastle Chronicle and Journal in the UK. In June 2011 he produced, shot and directed his first film, “Holding the Line,” for Al Jazeera, which is the result of three weeks living with a group of rebel fighters outside the besieged Libyan city of Misrata.
